Listen to the Advice of Doctors against Wearing Heels

I am astonished that why fashion is more important in our society. I have been noticing that it is sometimes over and above our own comfort. An example is the high heel shoes my female patients wear. Regularly, I have been advising all my female patients to give up wearing those high heel shoes. Not only does high heel shoes cause you pain, but small heel shoes can also cause pain. Therefore the caution here for patients is that to get rid of heeled shoes. You might be thinking of me that I am anti-fashion and anti-tradition, but this is not the case, the main reason is I think of comfort for my patients. Actually, the problem of heeled shoes is that when you are wearing them your heel is in an abnormal position, not only the heel, but also the whole foot, which causes pain when you wear them for a long time. There are various situations, you might come across and you will then realize the drawbacks of wearing heels, especially high heels.

When thinking of wearing heels, it is almost certain that you will get yourself into various foot pains and occasionally you might twist your ankle. Obviously, when female wear heels, they become use to it and the pain they feel first time wearing might not be the same wearing after second time. However, when you wear heels for a long time, you might feel abnormal pain in the ball of your foot because of the excessive pressure exerted on it by the use of heels. Although, you might have enough practice walking in heeled shoes, still when you come across an uneven surface you might twist your ankle and have a blowing ankle sprain causing you difficulty in walking normally. Moreover, you can also cause yourself an ankle fracture by abnormal functioning of subtalar joint, which controls the main rolling of our foot. Our foot has some Achilles tendon, which connect the calf to the heel bone and allowing it to move flexibly. Not having this tendon it would be near to impossible to walk normally. For the healthy functioning of the foot, tendon needs to maintain a certain state of stretchiness which if not kept will cause pain and this is the case when wearing heels. When the heels are high, it increases the stretchiness of the tendon. It is obvious that when your tendon is adjusted, you feel a little bit of pain in your foot, but it becomes fine after a while, the problem then arises when you wear normal shoes and your tendon is adjusted according to the heels causing you pain which as if someone is pinching in the ball of your foot. These changing effects in your foot sometimes lead to immense heel pain and then you go searching for doctors and pay large fees to get the surgery of your subtalar or tendon done in a fine way.
